Garages, Parking, Recreational Vehicles

Alta Vista has an attached 3-car garage. If you find opener remotes in a bowl on the kitchen countertop, please make sure to return them there when you depart, to avoid charges to your security deposit to replace them.
Do not program your car for our garage door opener. This will deactivate other openers and create havoc.
The garage doors are extra-high, so even tall vans fit without problems.
Special care must be taken in winter to assure that all garage doors close tight, to prevent snow from drifting inside. It is particularly important not to attempt to open the garage doors when the bottom is frozen solid to the concrete. This will over-load the garage opener and may cause expensive repairs.
Tahoe Donner prohibits parking on the street. In addition, in winter our snow removal contractor cannot do his work if a is are parked in our driveway area. We provide inside parking for three SUV-type vehicles. Please do not bring more vehicles.
Guests may arrive in a small recreational vehicle only during April - October, when snowfall is not anticipated, and only to the extent that the vehicle can be maneuvered into the driveway-parking area.
Our snow removal contractor requires that cars, trailers, or any equipment parked on-site but not in the garage, i.e., in our driveway, are clearly marked, so he will recognize them when he comes to do his work. It sounds strange that this could ever become an issue, but it does happen again and again that a car is severely damaged by a snow blower. It also happens that items carelessly left in our driveway, such as snow shovels or ski equipment, and then covered up by snowfall can severely damage our contractor's snow blower. We would be responsible for such a mishap, and we would pass the cost on to you.
Please honor our personal belongings, as well as housekeeping supplies and equipment stored in the garage. These items are not for renters' use. See also here for more about items and spaces not included in the rental.
One of the two electric dryers that are available to our guests is located in the garage. During the summer months Guests may wish to use clothes lines available in the garage for drying.
Access to the Sauna is through the garage.
We request that the interior door from the garage to the house remains unlocked at al times — the housekeepers make their way into the house this way.
