Keys, Keyless Entry System, Safe Box
The house has a SCHLAGE keyless entry system. The buckle will normally turn freely. Upon entry of the correct code, it will engage with the dead bolt, which can then be turned to open (or close).
The code will be provided to our guests about ten days prior to arrival as part of the Arrival Information package. First push the upper ("Schlage") button; the number buttons will then be illuminated. Now enter the code and, within a few seconds, turn the knob clockwise to open the dead bolt.*
To lock, simply push the "Schlage" button and turn knob counter-clockwise to engage the dead bolt and lock the door.
There is also a conventional key lock box, operable with the same code. It contains a mechanical door key which can be used in case the keyless entry system malfunctions. The lock box is mounted at shoulder level on the house wall to the right of the front door.
The garage door can only be opened by guests with the wall-mounted button inside the garage or a remote located in the kitchen desk drawer. The outside keypad is programmed differently. We ask that our guests do NOT attempt to program the garage door opener into their car, as this will impair our own programming
Also, we provide a hotel-type safe box for our guests' convenience. The code will be communicated in the Arrival Information package.

* Note: if a wrong code is entered several times within a minute or two, the system will freeze, and nothing will work for about 15 minutes.
