Space Heating & Air Conditioning

Due to the altitude of Abadiania (3500 ft elevation), the climate is so moderate that one seldom finds air conditioning, and essentially never space heating in buildings.  Furthermore, due to the construction methodologies -- brick, concrete and stone -- the thermal mass of a building is so large that the daily temperature extremes are effectively evened out inside buildings in every season, and air conditioning or space heating is seldom experienced as lacking. 

Casa de Luz: Nevertheless, to fend off afternoon temperature extremes, we have provided air conditioning in the living room and bedrooms. They can be controlled with remotes with quite confusing details.  We recommend using the standard setting which supplies 25 degrees (C). 
-- push the orange on/off button.
-- then push the "MODO" button multiple times until a triangle appears in the top left corner of the screen.
-- push on/off again to turn the unit off. 
Note that these units are not designed to function as heast pumps.

Alegria and Amor: Each apartment has an air conditioner installed in the living room.

To conserve energy which is vey expensive in Abadiania, we request to use the miniblinds to blend out the afternoon sun, and to have the windows closed when A/C is running.  On your arrival you may find the air conditioner unit unplugged. If this is so, and if you wish to use air conditioning, please unplug it when you depart.
