CP Hot Tub — Troubleshooting
When a problem other than discussed below arises, please text or call Klaus at 408-731-0794.
The topside controls can be tricky, in that pushing the wrong buttons in the wrong sequence can cause havoc.

(a) CANNOT SET TO HIGHER THAN 99 DEG MAX
There are far too many options to set, and one particular option (that is nonsensical to have available to begin with) is “LOW Range temperature,” which limits the temperature to 99 degrees. It is really easy to push some buttons to get life out of the controls — and to inadvertently end up with this erroneous setting. Particularly awkward are the sequences involving the first (red in Photo 1) and third (blue) buttons. Erroneously ending up with the Low Range setting happens really easily.
Here are the steps to correct it (never hold buttons - always “press and release”):
Photo 2: From the Owner’s Manual. Note that the TEMP button is, at our spa, calle “WARM.”
— Stand in the breeze way between house and Annex.
— Open the cover.
— Press the [red] button (“WARM”); read-out is flashing.
— While flashing, press the [blue] “LIGHT” button once. Read “TR LO."
— Press “WARM” again. Read-out turns to “TR HI” (Photo 2).
— Press “LIGHT” again, to “set” this desired high temperature mode.

(b) WATER COOLS DOWN DURING USE
While the jets are running, the heating function is OFF. The water will, therefore, naturally cool down a bit during prolonged hot tub sessions when the jets are running. Even when the jets are off, particularly in cold weather, the heating power may be insufficient to overcome the heat loss by evaporation. It will help to bathe with the cover only half-opened.
Please mind that long hot tub sessions may also present health risks.

(c) HEATING SEEMS INCOMPLETE
It takes a while for the heater to raise the water temperature. Mind that the heating RATE (with cover fully applied) is only 2 degrees per hour.
Also, it is possible that accidental pushing the wrong buttons in the wrong sequence unintentionally put the controls in the wrong HEAT MODE. Refer to (a) above and Photos 2-5 to correct.

(d) FILTERING SOUND BOTHERSOME AT NIGHT
It is conceivable that the tub is filtering at night times, and the sound is bothering you when you sleep. If that is the case, adjust filter cycles (Photo 3) or, better, call Klaus (408-731-0794) to alleviate the problem by turning the hot tub entirely off at night.

(e) OTHER ERRONEOUS SETTINGS
Refer to Photos 4 and 5 if there are other apparently erroneous settings. These are usually so seldom and so cumbersome to correct that it is better to leave this to Klaus.
