OPTIONAL AMENITY

We offer the hot tub as an optional rental amenity for a separate fee of $40 per rental. This fee is incorporated in the housekeeping fee and will be rebated after completion of the rental if the guests state at the time of booking that they will not use the hot tub. In the unlikely event that the hot tub is not operational during the guest’s stay, and our hot tub service contractor cannot fix the problem in a timely fashion, we will refund the $40 paid use fee.

USE OF THE HOT TUB IS AT GUEST’S OWN RISK

Our hot tub is serviced by a professional contractor prior to each rental. It is sanitized with a combination of ozone and bromine. While sanitation with ozone and bromine, each by itself, are highly effective sanitizing agents, the two are synergistic in their sanitation effect. Nonetheless, there is always a finite possibility of an unforeseen malfunction out of our control. People who are sensitive to such chemicals or water-born skin irritations should refrain from using the hot tub.

PRECAUTIONS

Please adhere to:

NO children in the hot tub without constant supervision
Do not step or sit on the cover (replacement cost ~ $700)
NO washing of wet suits in the hot tub
NO sand (e.g., from the beach) in the tub ***
NO abalone handling in or near the tub
Cover position: try half-open (Photo 1)

CONTROL SYSTEM AND MISC. FEATURES

  • Controls are on the rim of the tub.*

  • Adjust the water temperature with prudence. **

  • The fully automatic control system will turn the pump to low speed and the heater on when the water temperature drops by about one degree, run for a short time, and then turn everything off again.

  • Filtering: In addition to automatic temperature adjustment, the pump will also periodically come on automatically for the necessary filtering. Furthermore, occasionally the automatic electronic system moves through a complete low speed and high speed cycle, lasting about 2 minutes.

  • Jets: fragile; please adjust them mechanically without force. The heater will be off while jets are running.

  • Water level: should be about 3" below the rim of the tub; use the garden hose to add water. Our hot tub service contractor will fill the tub to the proper level, and you will likely not need to add water during your stay.

  • Avoid introducing sand (such as from swimwear or objects from the beach) into the hot tub.***

______________________________

NOTES:

* When the tub is in the active heating mode or in the filtering mode, the pump will be running at low speed and cannot be turned off.

** We do not advise a water temperature exceeding 102 degrees; and even 102 degrees may be too hot for people with health challenges, such as hypertension. USE OF THE HOT TUB IS AT GUESTS’ OWN RISK.

*** Even small amounts of sand will damage the pump system and cause expensive repairs.

**** Sudden wind gusts may easily lift the cover and damage it, while leaving the hot tub uncovered and exposed to excessive heat loss. (Photo 3).
